The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, has instructed Adolphus Wabara, the new Chairman of the party Board of Trustees (BoT), to get in touch with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and other resentful party members ahead of the 2023 general elections.
According to POLITICS NIGERIA, Ayu and Wabara had a meeting on Friday.
Speaking during the gathering, Ayu claimed that if the PDP loses the 2023 presidential election, Nigerians won’t forgive them.
“The National Working Committee (NWC) meeting yesterday (Thursday) did not result in a loss of confidence. It served as inspiration. According to how I interpret it, the party ought to band together. One group won’t triumph over another, according to Ayu.
“If we interpret it that way, we are wrong. I believe the party desires harmony. Thank God Wabara can do that duty even more well. You have a lengthy history with this party, are a diplomat, a former member of the House of Representatives, a former senator, and a former president of the Senate.
“I’m asking you to take the initiative in reaching out to our disgruntled members. Reach out to Governor Wike, all the other governors, and anyone else who is upset, and plead with them to come back and work with us in the PDP family. You have the full support of myself, the candidate (Atiku Abubakar), and the entire NWC.
Nigerians will be extremely disappointed if we don’t win the following year.
