A former Nigerian Vice President and the 2023 presidential candidate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has addressed the ongoing crisis rocking the party even as the commencement of the presidential campaign and the general elections draws near.
While speaking at the 97th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party held in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Thursday, the former Vice President reaffirmed his commitment to bringing an end to the internal wranglings in the party.
While speaking about the rift between some aggrieved members and the leadership of the party, Atiku said, “Family disagreements are normal, even in normal families and political families. What I can assure you is that we are determined to resolve those issues internally. They are not really fundamental disagreements; it is normal. “
Furthermore, the former Vice President pleaded with aggrieved members and the leader of the PDP to resolve all issues by using the provisions of the party constitution.
Keep in mind that the PDP NEC meeting today witnessed some remarkable events, such as the resignation of Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, as the party’s Chairman of Governors, and the election of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as the new PDP Governors Chairman.
