BREAKING!!!! Deputy Governor Shaibu Clinches PDP Factional Primary
In a surprising turn of events, Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu of Edo State has emerged victorious in a factional primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Trendy News can confirm that Shaibu secured 301 votes out of 559 cast, as declared by Honourable Moses Bartholomew, the primary’s Returning Officer.
However, the atmosphere quickly turned tense as personnel from the Edo State Security Network (ESSN) reportedly stormed the venue, armed and blocking exits. This action caused concern among delegates and journalists, who found themselves confined to the premises.
Amidst protests from some delegates who claimed they were barred from participating in the accreditation and voting process, spokesperson Festus Owu appealed to Shaibu to ensure their voices were heard at the PDP’s National Headquarters. They emphasized the importance of their votes in determining the state’s leadership.
In response, Shaibu reassured the protesters of the significance of their votes and pledged to convey their concerns to the appropriate authorities. Encouraged by the overwhelming support shown, Shaibu expressed confidence in his prospects for success in both the primaries and the main election scheduled for September.
