Catholic Church : Funeral Mass To Be Conducted For The Victims Of Owo Massacre

The Catholic Church, Ondo Diocese is set to conduct a funeral mass for the victims of the Catholic Church Owo massacre.

This was disclosed in a statement released by the Catholic Church of Ondo Diocese. The funeral mass is expected to hold on 17th June 2022.

Recall, no fewer than 40 worshippers of St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, were reportedly massacred during an attack that threw the entire ancient town of Owo into mourning.

The report revealed that the gunmen numbered about four invaded Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa Street, very close to the Palace of Olowo of Owo, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye.

During the terrorist attack, several other worshippers sustained various degrees of injury, and currently, many of the injured persons are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Owo town.

Meanwhile, since the ugly incident happened in Owo, security operatives had been deployed to the town to forestall the recurrence of the incident.
