Edo 2024: PDP’s Campaign in Shambles as APC’s Okpebholo Leads the Charge
With just 31 days left until the Edo State governorship election, the PDP’s campaign is in disarray. Despite being the ruling party, they have failed to organize campaigns at the senatorial district, local government area, and ward levels. In contrast, the APC’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has been actively campaigning across the state, connecting with voters and outlining his 5-Point Agenda for Edo’s development.
INEC is working to ensure a free, fair, and credible election, with measures like PVC collection and mock accreditation in place. Meanwhile, Okpebholo’s campaign continues to gain momentum, with massive support from Edo residents.
PDP’s candidate, Ighodalo, is absent from the campaign trail, prioritizing foreign trips over engaging with Edo voters. His party’s disarray is evident, with no clear leadership or direction.
Okpebholo’s campaign has been marked by unity of purpose, focus, and massive support. He has promised to construct quality roads, improve healthcare, and provide value-driven education. His brand-new buses are transporting Edo residents free-of-charge daily, a stark contrast to the PDP administration’s failure to provide new buses for public transportation in eight years.
The PDP’s disarray is further highlighted by Ighodalo’s absence from the campaign trail, their inability to raise powerful personalities to counter APC’s leadership, and their exclusion of legally elected delegates from voting in their primary election.
