Edo2024: The End of Discussion for the PDP in Etsako West

Etsako West ignited fervour of excitement today as the Edo APC campaign trail swept through and stirred the hearts of the people with a great display of support. The ovation is a pointer to the inevitable victory awaiting the APC in the September 21st election.

While addressing the people, Emperor Jaret Tenebe urged them to ride on the steadfast support of true leaders like Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, and himself to give Senator Okpebholo all the votes during the election. He emphasised that Okpebholo heralds an era of unprecedented development for Etsako West.

Sen. Oshiomhole took the stage with his distinctive energy and unmasked the PDP’s desperation strategy. He said the physical attack on APC supporters by the PDP is a strategy to instigate unrest that will make the elections not to hold because they already know they cannot win. “They’ve failed before, and they will fail again,” he declared. “The Edo APC has never let our people down, and certainly will not start now.”

Recalling a bitter tale from Edo South, Oshiomhole recounted how Obaseki in his usual fashion, promised to build a secondary school to complement the primary school revolution he (Oshiomhole) embarked on during his time but Obaseki ultimately failed the people as most secondary schools in Edo state today has become so dilapidated and in a sorry state. “The students have no place to learn because of broken promises,” he submitted. “While he borrowed huge sums under the guise of ‘EdoBest,’ he casualised teachers and left the system in disarray.”

The mismanagement did not stop at education. “The wealth of Edo State has been siphoned to other lands,” Oshiomhole lamented, “leaving our people in hunger. Our farmers have been abandoned and robbed of their lands, plagued by insecurity, and left to suffer hardship. This is how they maintain their wealth while keeping the masses in chains of poverty.”

Sen. Monday Okpebholo (Akpakpomiza) in his impassioned speech, painted a grim picture of the state’s condition. “Edo is in a coma, but we are here to resuscitate it. This is our land, our future, and we will not allow anyone who vows to continue Obaseki’s disastrous legacy to govern Edo. Never again will we let those who crippled our educational system and watched our women die in prisons over N20,000 fine, be entrusted with power.”

With a vision of restoration, Akpakomiza laid out a bold agenda. “My government will ensure that health centers are established in all 192 wards. We will empower our farmers with fertilizers and modern equipment, and security will be restored as we smoke out kidnappers and bandits once and for all. In my first 100 days in office, we will employ 5,000 teachers and embark on a massive renovation of neglected schools. Teachers will be paid what they deserve—not political handouts.”

With determination in his voice, Akpakomiza concluded, “We are not here to repeat the failures of the past. We are here to build a future where every Edo citizen can stand tall, proud, and unafraid. Together, we will make Edo great again.”

A new Edo is possible with Sen. Monday Okpebholo and Hon. Dennis Idahosa. Vote wisely!
