EPL: Guardiola gives condition for Haaland to play against Liverpool
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said Erling Haaland would only play against Liverpool on Saturday, if he passes a late fitness call.
Haaland has already netted 28 goals in 26 appearances for City.
But the Norway striker missed the international break after feeling discomfort in his groin.
Haaland was not spotted in training on Thursday, leading to speculation he could miss the visit of Liverpool.
But Guardiola says Haaland will be assessed after City’s final training session on Friday afternoon.
“We’ll see this afternoon. We have the last training session at 4pm today so then we will see how he feels,” Guardiola told a press conference on Friday.
He added: “We’ll see today. And again the doctors, and especially the player, will decide.”
