Gunmen have attacked security operatives and set ablaze a Customs van along Issele-Azagba Road, in the Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
“There were heavy gunshots along Issele-Azagba on Wednesday evening by unknown gunmen.
“They attacked security men along the highway and shot discriminately. In the process, they set ablaze a Customs van,” a witness, who did not want to be identified, said.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright, on Thursday, confirmed the attack, adding that nobody was killed.
He said, “The armed robbers shot at the vigilantes, but they quickly took cover; no death was recorded.”
