Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, said that his State (Imo) is now “free” from violent attacks after two years of not “enjoying peace”.
The Imo State Governor said this on Tuesday, 7th September 2022, at a programme themed “Imo Unity Prayers and Praise Convention”, which was organised by the Imo chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
For the past several months, Imo State has encountered numerous violent attacks targeted at the residents of the State, government officials, security personnels, which led to the killing of several persons and destroying of several properties. However, for the past weeks, there has been a relative decrease in reported attacks across the State.
Speaking at the event organised by CAN, Governor Hope Uzodinma commended the leadership of CAN for organising such programme in the State, said that the residents of the State are now “free” from violent attacks. This is as he further urged the people of Imo State continue praying for peace and unity in the State.
