Following today’s Europa League group stage match up between Real Sociedad and Manchester United at Old Trafford, Manchester United fans came out to blast their star player after he had an awful performance. 
Erik Ten Hag finally gave Cristiano Ronaldo a start after he came on as a substitute in their last four games. It was Cristiano Ronaldo’s first ever game in the Europa League. The Portuguese forward will be playing Europa League football this season, it will be the first time in his career when he doesn’t play Champions League football.
Cristiano Ronaldo failed to be at his best today. Manchester United ‘s attack failed on their part, they created chances of scoring but failed to capitalise from those few chances created. Manchester United’s defense wasn’t solid, though they didn’t concede an open play goal they still need to improve on their pace. Lisandro Martinez’ handball in the penalty area was what gave Real Sociedad the advantage from the penalty area.
Erik Ten Hag gave Cristiano Ronaldo a chance to get back into the first team but the Portuguese forward misused that chance. Fans were not quite impressed with Ronaldo’s performance. Comments made by angry fans can be seen below.
