No fewer than four members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have returned a total of N122.4 million paid into their accounts by the party’s leader.
.
This is coming amid reports that the PDP’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, allegedly transferred over N100m to the NWC members after the conclusion of the party’s primaries.
.
The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, had also made a similar allegation during his recent media chat where he accused Ayu of pocketting N1bn he received from a presidential candidate in Lagos.
.
Meanwhile, the money returned by the NWC members was said to be part of the over N10 billion realised by the party from nomination fees paid by aspirants.
.
The members who returned the money include; the National Vice Chairman (South-West) Olasoji Adagunodo, the Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja; National Vice Chairman (South), Chief Dan Orbih; and National Women Leader, Prof. Stella Affah-Attoe.
.
This revelation was contained in separate letters addressed to Ayu by the affected NWC members.
