The Super Falcons of Nigeria have ended their long scoreless streak against the United States of America Women’s National team, after they scored a goal in their 2-1 away defeat at Washington DC on Tuesday night.
Nigeria Women’s National team and the United States of America Women’s National team do play against each other regularly, and they were able to play another entertaining friendly game against each other on Tuesday.
The Super Falcons of Nigeria suffered a 4-0 defeat to United States of America Women’s National team few days ago, and they still secured another hard-fought victory over their opponent yesterday.
United States of America Women’s National team took the lead through an own goal from Demehin, to end the first half of the game 1-0.
Uchenna Kanu equalized for Nigeria in the 50th minute before Rose Lavelle scored the winning goal for United States of America Women’s National team in the 66th minute to end the match 2-1.
The Super Falcons of Nigeria were exceptional throughout the entire duration of the game, but all their efforts to secure a point in the game were not successful, as the match ended 2-1 in favour of the United States of America Women’s National team.
Prior to Tuesday night’s game, Nigeria have not been able to score against USA, and Uchenna Kanu‘s second half goal means, the Super Falcons of Nigeria have ended their 20-year long scoreless streak against United States of America Women’s National team.
