Obaseki’s “Do or Die” Statement Sparks Outrage: Edo Group Condemns PDP’s Attempt to Cripple State

The Edo South Patriotic Forum (ESPF), a leading advocacy group, has strongly condemned Governor Godwin Obaseki’s inflammatory “do or die” statement at yesterday’s PDP mega rally. This provocative remark has drawn widespread criticism for its potential to destabilize the state and incite violence.

Chief Emmanuel Aigbe, President of the ESPF, denounced Obaseki’s rhetoric as “irresponsible and dangerous,” warning of severe consequences, including:

  1. Escalation of Violence: Emboldening extremist factions and putting innocent lives at risk.
  2. Intimidation of Voters: Disenfranchising voters and undermining the fairness of the election.
  3. Disruption of Peace: Fueling tensions and unrest, disrupting daily life and destabilizing the state’s socio-political environment.

The ESPF also expressed concern that the PDP’s endorsement of such rhetoric may be an attempt to cripple the state’s democratic processes. This strategy, they believe, aims to create chaos and manipulate the electoral outcome through fear and intimidation rather than legitimate means.

In response, the ESPF is calling for immediate action to ensure the safety and security of the Edo people. They urge all stakeholders to denounce such dangerous rhetoric and work towards a peaceful and fair electoral process.

Chief Emmanuel Aigbe and the ESPF remain committed to promoting peace and protecting the rights of every Edo citizen during this critical election period.

The ESPF’s condemnation of Obaseki’s statement and the PDP’s tactics highlights the need for responsible leadership and peaceful political discourse in Edo State. As the election approaches, it is crucial for all stakeholders to prioritize the well-being and stability of the state and its citizens.”
