Abdullahi Adamu, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said yesterday that next year’s presidential election is a must-win for the party’s candidate, Bola Tinubu.
He also stated that the ruling party was not aiming for a victory through the election tribunal, but rather an outright victory and direct entry into Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
Adamu spoke during a courtesy visit to the party’s leadership in Abuja by the wife of the party’s presidential candidate, Oluremi Tinubu.
He stated that even though President Muhammadu Buhari would not be on the ballot, his spirit and achievements would provide the party with the necessary impetus to win.
“I just want to emphasize one thing to you: there is no other way to win; we must leave no room for error.” By the grace of God, this government must be restored. I believe in God and pray for God to recognize me and value what we are doing. I’d like to take advantage of your presence to emphasize that we only need to work for victory. There is no other option, and don’t be ashamed to say so. We are not aiming to end up in the tribunal, but rather in the Villa. Those with ears should listen.”
Adamu stated that he had faith in those leading the presidential campaign and was eager to see what value President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would bring.
“President Buhari will not be on the ticket, but his spirit, driving leadership, and progressiveness in everything he does will continue to add value to our efforts to win the elections.” In terms of the APC’s leadership, President Buhari is very much on the ticket. We won’t see his picture, but his spirit will fuel our efforts. He has accomplished so much in difficult circumstances. And, to everyone’s surprise, he’s polling the fortunes of this country.”
“We are ready to work with you,” Adamu said, rallying a delegation that included the wife of the vice presidential candidate, Nana Shettima, Rukayattu Guni, Lauretta Onochie, Stella Okotete, Bilikisu Kyari, Awah Maimusa, and Binta Muazu, among others. We are prepared. May God bless our candidate with greater wisdom and reach. The stakes are high, but we know what you’re capable of. We want to hear your voice now more than ever. We believe in you, and with your powerful voice in the Senate, we know what you are capable of. We want you to not only replicate but also improve on the testimony we are providing as to your abilities.”
By rallying Nigerian women to ensure victory for the presidential and vice presidential candidates, Oluremi Tinubu assured the party that women were ready to contribute their quota.
“It is a pleasure to be here on a solidarity and courtesy visit, as well as to inform you of our activities.” Despite the fact that the schedule has not been released, it is best for me to come here and tell you that we have been busy and working quietly. We want to scare you with our activities.
We are all ready to mobilize, and our programs will be released very soon. “We are the Tinubu-Shettima presidential women council, and we are working,” she said. “We want you to know that, and we also want to commend you for the great leadership you have given us, and for bringing respectability to our great party.”
