Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan attended the Iwuayanwu’s 80th birthday symposium in Owerri, Imo state. During his speech at the event, the former president of Nigeria advised the Nigerian youth not to vote in 2023 based on religion and ethnicity. He also said that from the beginning of democracy in Nigeria, the Igbo people have always stood for the unity of Nigeria. 
He also said that the Igbos have always stood for the unity of Nigeria since the beginning of democracy in Nigeria and that’s how it has been all this while. He also gave several pieces of advice on how to live as one country despite our differences in ethnicity and religion. 
He said that every country has its challenges likewise Nigeria, but we shouldn’t allow our challenges to eat us up, we should unite to fight against our problems and never allow ethnicity and religion to divide us in this country. 
Working together as one country will help us in conquering all the problems we are facing in this country, and this will be achievable if only we work together as one and drop ethnicity and religion aside, Goodluck Jonathan said.
