The mistakes Ten Hag needs to stop making at Man United

Manchester United lost their two opening games of the season to Brighton and Brentford, and while there is a lot of blame to go around, the team has managed to recover in certain areas, especially on their winning streak. But there are a few mistakes that Erik Ten Hag has already started to make at Manchester United, and those mistakes need to be fixed quickly in order for the team to start winning games immediately. Their game against Liverpool proved that they are indeed capable of fixing these mistakes and their plan against teams like Arsenal and Southampton worked to near perfection. But they now need to keep up the energy with some much needed consistency.
The first mistake that Ten Hag keeps making is the fact that De Gea is still starting games for Manchester United. This is extremely disappointing because we all know how error-prone the Spanish international has become in the last few years, and the fact that Dean Henderson had to get out of the club in order for De Gea to solidify his starting spot is a massive error that could come back and haunt Manchester United in the future. In fact, it has already started to hurt the club in monumental ways, and things will not get better until Ten Hag keeps De Gea on the bench. Hopefully, the new goalkeeper signing will make things a little more competitive for the Spanish international.
In the opening games of the season, Manchester United started playing Fred as a lone defensive midfielder along with Christian Eriksen. This was a major tactical mistake mainly because Fred does not have the physicality required to play that role and certainly does not have the height to complement his lack of physicality. For United to be able to make a lot of progress in those areas, Fred would never have started most game as a lone defensive midfielder which is why the team conceded four goals in just under 35 minutes against Brentford.
But having Casemiro and Scott Mctominay had been a major change in that midfield role as things have started settling down.
