Boxing icon, Floyd Mayweather of the Money Team, was unable to fight off tears during his induction into the Boxing Hall of Fame. The 45-year-old took the time and opportunity to pay glowing tribute to his father, Floyd Mayweather Snr, who he claimed played a central role in shaping his career.
Mayweather’s induction came after an illustrious career in the ring that saw him go undefeated in 50 boxing top class matches. Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya, and Canelo Alvarez are some of the boxing stars that the now-retired American boxer defeated.
Emotions got the better of the boxing legend Floyd Mayweather as he was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame. The undefeated American boxer led three classes as they were honoured for their outstanding careers in the ring.
The 45 year old seized the chance to pay tribute to his 69-year-old father Floyd Sr, who he said and rightly so, he owes all to for his illustrious career. “I said that I wouldn’t cry. This is unbelievable. This is one of the best days of my life,” Mayweather said. “I love my dad because without him this wouldn’t be possible for me,” he added. Now retired, the 50-0 boxing legend won belts from super-featherweight all the way to light-middleweight.
