Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju-Kennedy Ohanenye, has reiterated that her vision and dedication remain unwavering despite her removal from office by President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking during an interview on Channels TV, Ohanenye stressed that although her tenure as minister has concluded, her commitment to her goals remains intact. “I was sacked, but my visions remain; my visions were not sacked,” she asserted confidently.
She underscored her continued dedication to the causes she championed while in office, highlighting her ongoing efforts to support women, young girls, and men. “I am still managing all the cases I handled before leaving office. These are sensitive issues that I cannot simply walk away from,” she explained.
Ohanenye also shared details of her ongoing projects, including the production of films focused on instilling moral values, an initiative she had planned before her dismissal. “I’m still pursuing these projects because they are vital for societal growth,” she added.
Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming public support she received after her dismissal, Ohanenye conveyed her appreciation to Nigerians. “I was deeply moved by the support I received. Nigerians spoke up for me, and I am genuinely grateful,” she said.
Despite the challenges, Ohanenye remains hopeful and encouraged others to persist in the face of setbacks. “When one door closes, don’t hesitate to open another. Even if it’s a door you’ve closed before, try to reopen it,” she advised.
