Nigerian athlete and the world fastest female hurdler, Tobi Amusan has made Nigeria proud again in the ongoing 2022 Diamond League in Zurich, Switzerland.
The Nigerian athlete won the 100 metres hurdles race ahead of top athletes like the Olympic gold medalist, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn. By winning the race, Amusan successfully defended the championship she previously won last year.
Amusan ran a time of 12.29 seconds. By running in such a short time, she broke a 22 year old record which was set by Gail Devers.
This will be Tobi Amusan’s third victory in a year with 3 records broken in each of those races. In July this year, Tobi Amusan won the gold medal at the World Athletics championship in USA to become the world record holder in 100 metres hurdles. In August this year, she also won the gold medal at the Commonwealth games which was held in Birmingham, England and broke the Commonwealth games’ record too.
