Wike tackles Ayu, says PDP chairman ‘arrogant’
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike said he knows why the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, is “arrogant” against the “demand” of some members of the party.

M.r Ayu has been under pressure from a group of governors and some former governors of the party led by. Mr. Wike, to step down for a southerner to take over his position.
But the national chairman has refused to resign, insisting he was elected for a four-year tenure. His position was further boosted on Thursday as members of the party’s National Executive Committee passed a vote of confidence on the former Benue Senator.
Atiku not against you – Fayose tells Wike amid PDP crisis
Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has commented on the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting that the presidential flagbearer of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is not against Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

PDP has been witnessing a crisis since the emergence of Atiku as its 2023 presidential candidate.
The party erupted into crisis when Atiku picked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate for next year’s election.
Wike has been aggrieved with PDP’s leadership over Atiku’s choice of a running mate.
Christian leaders plan to parley with Atiku, Tinubu, and others
Ahead of the 2023 elections, plans for a meeting between presidential candidates of various political parties and Christian leaders under the aegis of the Nigerian National Christian Coalition have reached an advanced stage, our correspondent learned.

The leaders said the discussion with presidential candidates, especially those of the major political parties, would top the agenda of their “Meet The Church Summit”, scheduled for September 20 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
In a press conference on Friday, the convener of NNCC, Titi Oluwadare, said Christians could no longer be spectators in the country, warning that any politician who failed to meet the church would fail in 2023.

A drum of war is sounding in the Niger Delta region following the decision of a foremost freedom fighter and founder of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force (NDVF), Alh. Asari Dokubo, to oppose the N4.5bn monthly pipeline surveillance contract awarded to a former militant leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, aka, Tompolo.

The aggrieved Dokubo in a viral video said it smacked of greed for Tompolo to be in charge of pipeline protection for all the ethnic groups in the Niger Delta.
Dokubo wondered why Tompolo would be in charge of Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers states, querying whether he was the only one that knew how to eat.
