The UEFA Champions league makes another return this season. Just like Karim Benzema won the leading goal scorer award for last season’s edition, there are lots of stars who could win that of this season. They are:

1. Robert Lewandowski: the Polish striker moved to Barcelona football club this summer and he has already scored 5 goals in 4 matches in Spanish La Liga. He is arguably one of the favourites to emerge as the highest goal scorer in this season’s UEFA Champions league.

2. Karim Benzema: the Real Madrid star player won the award last season and already, he has started off from where he stopped last season by scoring 3 goals already this season.

3. Erling Haaland: the Manchester City’s striker has been phenomenal this season. He has already netted 10 goals in just 6 English Premier league games this season. He is also one of the favourites for the award.

4. Sadio Mane: the Senegalese striker joined Bayern Munich in the summer from Liverpool and he is already scoring in the German Bundesliga for fun. He will indeed be a threat for defenders in the UEFA Champions league.

5. Kylian Mbappe: the Paris Saint Germain forward is in a great form at the moment. He is one of the leading goal scorers in the French Ligue 1. He is for sure a favourite for the highest goal scorer award.

6. Lionel Messi: the Argentine striker is the player with the most number of goals in the competition after Cristiano Ronaldo. He is also a threat as far as UEFA Champions league is concerned.
