Popular Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun better known as Wizkid has surpassed his colleague in the industry, Olamide Adedeji Baddo to become the highest Headies award winner in history.
This was as he won five awards at the just concluded 15th edition of the Headies award, held in Atlanta in the United States of America.
The talented singer was at par with Olamide before, each having 15 awards. However, Wizkid has now risen the table with 20 awards to become the highest Headies award winner, and Olamide now on 16, as he won just one award.
Wizkid won awards for; “Best Collaboration, Best R & B Single, Album Of The Year, Best Afrobeats Album, Song Of The Year”. Olamide on the other hand, won Best Rap Album.
Headies award is a music award show established to identify and celebrate great achievement in the Nigeria music industry. It started in 2006, and has recognised many great talents in the industry.
Olamide and Wizkid are living legends in the music industry, and they have played important roes in the development of the industry, grooming talents. The two have also worked together in some project, and have good relationships with each other.
